Life-Sized Thomas The Tank Engine

If you're planning to visit Japan this summer, you might want to check out the Oigawa Railway in Shizuoka Prefecture, as the railway line has dressed up one of its steam engines as Thomas the Tank Engine, and will be offering rides on the train as a special attraction

Here is the You tube Link Thomas the Tank Engine,

FYI, there are a couple of places in the UK that have done this. Most notably, the Watercress Line in Hampshire. They converted an Austerity 0-6-0 saddle tank (of which there are many preserved in the UK) into a side-tank loco in the form of Thomas. They rent it out to other lines for thier Thomas events. I can imagine it's quite the money earner for the folks at the Watercress Line.

Oops. I just saw the date of the original post. Oh well, maybe still of interest to someone!
