Tweaking the Track

As with all thing potable, final adjustments need to be made. Here GVGRC members, John and Juergen are putting the final touchs to the track before the trains can start to run.

Live Steam

Here the in the steaming bay the live steam engines are getting fired up for their run around the layout. Just as in the real thing it takes time to build up a head of steam.

GVGRC In The Community

The Greater Vancouver Garden Railway Club is teaming up with the Historic Stewart Farm for a day of fun!

On (Fathers Day) From 10:00 Am to 4:00 Pm the GVGRC traditionally has its Display & Demonstration layout on display at the Stewart Farm.

Last Year The portable layout (24 feet wide and 40 feet long) was set up at Stewart farm. Over the course of the day we had between 200 to 300 people visit the layout, I don't think there was an empty space in the parking lot.

GVGRC Members were out in force running and displaying their live steam models (Yes powered by steam) as well as track and battery powered models.

The Stewart farm went all out, Working in periodic dress the tour guides made lemonade and hand-churned ice cream which visitors were able to sample, and a treat for dad (being father's day) coffee and cookies.
